When a vector layer is selected in the Layers palette, the Draw tools become enabled in the Tools palette. These tools are the first and perhaps most used tools in the entire Tools palette. With these tools you can create and edit points and curves. This chapter will introduce the various Draw tools, but only the tools to create curves and shapes will be covered in this chapter, including the tools to draw freehand curves, precise controlled curves, regular shapes, and even arrowed lines. Finally, a number of draw scripts exist for quickly creating and working with curves and shapes. The remaining Draw tools will be covered in subsequent chapters. So don’t just sit there—click a tool and dirty up that blank main window.
