Enabling the Stereoscopic Effect

The final effect setting to examine is the stereoscopic effect. This effect creates an image that can be made to appear three dimensional when viewed using red and blue stereo glasses that were common in the older 3D movies. The technique is created by the project from one angle using a red channel and from another angle using a blue channel. By combining these two overlapped images, the depth of the image is re-created.

This option can be enabled for a rendered project using the Enable Stereo (Red/Blue) Rendering option in the Project Settings dialog box. The greater the value, the more the red and blue channels are separated from each other.

Figure 32.6 shows the butterfly image produced in the last example with the Enable Stereo option checked.
