Selecting Paths

Paths are selected with the Select Points tool (G) by clicking the path away from any points. This works by automatically selecting all the points on the path. If the path makes a shape, then all points of the shape are selected. Holding down the Shift key lets you select multiple paths at once, and holding down the Ctrl/Cmd key switches to Lasso mode so that you can drag over the points you want to select.

Note

Previous versions of Anime Studio referred to vector lines as construction curves, but as of Anime Studio 6, construction curves are now called paths.

When a path is clicked on, all the points that make up the selected path are highlighted red, as shown in Figure 12.1. This object includes only two paths, the lion’s stroke and an interior path to define the mane.

You can also select all points in the active layer using the Edit, Select All (Ctrl/Cmd+A) menu command. The Edit, Select None menu command deselects all points, or you can click in the working area away from all other objects and points. The Edit, Select Inverse (Ctrl/Cmd+I) menu command deselects all the currently selected points and selects all the points that weren’t selected.

The Edit, Select Connected (Tab) selects all points that are part of the same object. This doesn’t select just the current path, it selects all paths that are attached to the current selection.

Note

All of the menu commands in the Edit menu and the Lasso tool will only select points and not paths.
