23. Organizing Layers into Groups

A group layer is simply a folder that can hold sublayers. A group layer can also hold other group layers so that nesting layers are supported. All sublayers within a group layer inherit the actions applied to the group layer, so if a group layer is moved, all of its sublayers are moved also.

One key place where group layers are used is when working with masks. Masks require that layers be contained within the same group layer.
