Chapter Summary

This chapter showed you how to add text to the current project. Added text lies on a vector layer along with the other paths and points and is simply a set of curves and shapes. When inserting text, you also have access to the available system fonts to change the look of the text. The Credits script can also be used to add text to the current project. It works just like the Insert Text feature but includes additional features for controlling the duration and fading of the credit text.

Now that the vector layers are populated with all kinds of curves, shapes, and text, you need to learn how to manipulate the various vector elements. The next two chapters cover all the various modifying features by first working with points and then by presenting a chapter about editing paths.
