Dedication
My son, in karate, was recently enrolled,
“It’s great discipline,” I was thinking quite bold.
But now I’m having to rethink my decision,
’Cause practice at home isn’t what I envision.
Every day when from class he’s returned,
He’s anxious to show me the moves that he’s learned.
I cringe when he asks me to grab him from behind
Because I usually end up on ground in a bind.
Playing with my son now leaves me with bruises,
And I’m running out of ways to dodge with excuses.
There must be a way I can counter his attack,
Without always ending up flat on my back.
I’ve been watching TV to find a solution,
To counter his moves with bold retribution.
After studying long, I’m ready for his blows,
By trying out what I’ve learned from the wrestling pros.
