Using the Anime Studio Help File

Under the Help menu is a Help option that opens the Anime Studio User’s Manual, as shown in Figure 5.1. This manual is a PDF file and opens in a Web browser or in Adobe Reader if it is installed on your system.

Note

If your Web browser has strict security measures enabled, the Anime Studio User’s Manual may be blocked from running in your system’s Web browser because it uses scripts.

The Table of Contents is divided into several categories including a reference of every menu command. The Table of Contents is also linked, so clicking on a topic will take you directly to the corresponding page in the manual. Be aware that the User’s Manual has some gaps, but the manual isn’t too long, and it is fairly well organized, so it is easy to find specific topics.

Using the Quick Start Guide

If you are brand new to Anime Studio, then you may want to begin with the Quick Start Guide, which is accessed from the Help, Quick Start Guide menu. This guide provides an overview of some of the key features.

Note

You can also access the Anime Studio Quick Start Guide by clicking the Introductory Tutorial button on the Welcome Screen.

Accessing the Manual Tutorials

In addition to the reference materials, the User’s Manual also includes a simple set of tutorials. These tutorials are fairly basic and cover only the main features. They are divided into several different topics, including Drawing, Bones, Images, Animation, and Effects.

You can also learn about the various features by examining the content folder on the hard drive. This folder can also be accessed using the Help, Open Content Library menu. More on using the Content Library is covered in Chapter 6, “Working with the Content Library.”
