Adding Line Effects

When the Stroke option is enabled, the shape stroke is colored using the designated color and its thickness is determined by the Line Width value. A stroke can also include a single effect applied using the Effect drop-down list. The available line effects include the following:

• Shaded: This effect adds a gradient along one edge of the object to make it appear to be raised.

• Soft Edge: This effect blurs the edges of the stroke.

• Halo: This effect adds a colored glow that surrounds the stroke.

• Gradient: This effect adds a two-color gradient across the surface of the stroke.

• Image Texture: This effect fills the stroke with a selected texture.

These available line effects that can be applied to a stroke are the same as those for fills, as shown in Figure 15.23. For strokes, there are two new effects that only apply to strokes.
