Depending on your project, you may start receiving proposals within minutes of clicking on the Post Job button. Remember, your project will be available around the globe. Contractors are searching for work 24/7.

When I had a website made, I received my first proposal within two minutes of posting, and at the end of 24 hours I had more than 30 sitting in my inbox. This is common, but not all postings receive this type of attention. If you’re looking for organic rodent recipes to feed your pet boa constrictor, you may experience only a few responses, but rarely will you get skunked completely. Experts exist for everything, and you can find them online.

BEST PRACTICES

Many clients start sorting through their proposals as soon as they receive them and make initial assessments. More time will be spent later reviewing the contractors in detail, but splitting them into A, B, and C files right off the bat helps keep the process under control.

As the proposals pile in, it will take time to give each of them the attention they deserve. Allow for this. You may receive dozens of proposals, and for most of us, making good hires takes time. It’s important to give each applicant his or her due and see which ones stand out from the rest.
