Key Points

  • Entourage includes six feature modules: Mail, Address Book, Calendar, Notes, Tasks, and Project Center.

  • You can change the way Entourage displays and handles information, from the Preferences dialog box.

  • You can configure Entourage to connect to multiple e-mail accounts, and to multiple types of e-mail accounts.

  • You can personalize the content of outgoing messages in many ways, such as formatting message text or creating an e-mail signature.

  • While you’re crafting a message, you can validate the words and phrases in the message by using the reference tools that are available in all the Office 2008 programs. The Reference Tools palette of the Toolbox provides easy access to research tools, including a thesaurus that makes it easy to track down synonyms, bilingual dictionaries, and translation services.

  • If you’re interrupted before finishing a message, you can save a draft version of it for later.

  • Replying to a message sends the text of the original message, but no attachments. Forwarding a message sends the message and all its attachments.

  • Deleting a message moves it to the Deleted Items folder. Until you empty the folder or otherwise permanently delete items, they remain available to you.
