Insert Your Own Photos

The Photos page displays the contents of any image folder or iPhoto library you select for inclusion.

Insert Your Own Photos

You can quickly locate specific, tagged photos by searching for tag terms (metadata).

To add a folder or library to the Photos page:

  1. In the category list at the top of the page, click Other Library or Folder.

The Open Library Or Folder dialog box opens.

  2. In the lower-left corner of the dialog box, select Show iPhoto Libraries or Show Image Folders to indicate the type of folder you want to navigate to.

You can see folders of the type you don’t select, but you can’t choose them.

  3. Navigate to the image folder or iPhoto library you want to add to the Object Palette.

As with other graphic objects, you can modify photos by using the commands in the Formatting Palette.

Insert Your Own Photos

A photo, cropped to a pentagon shape, with outline, glow, and reflection effects

A lot of neat options are available, including the following:

  • You can apply a variety of Quick Styles that resemble frames or make the photo into a three-dimensional object.

  • You can crop the photo by using the rectangular cropping tool, or cut the photo into any of the shapes available from the Object Gallery.

  • You can add shadows and reflections to the photo to give it depth.

  • You can add an outline or glowing outline around the edge of the full, cropped, styled, or shaped photo.

  • You can choose one color in the photo to become transparent, so you can see through the photo to whatever background it’s sitting on.
