Communicate Online

Microsoft Entourage is an electronic communication and information management system designed specifically for the Mac. With Entourage 2008 for Mac, you can:

  • Connect to multiple e-mail accounts.

  • Send, receive, and manage e-mail messages.

  • Store contact information for people and organizations.

  • Keep track of appointments, meetings, and events.

  • Store notes and general information.

  • Keep track of tasks you need to do and your progress toward completing them.

  • Centrally access messages and files related to a specific project.

Entourage 2008 for Mac represents a massive upgrade from the previous version, with lots of new features requested by users and, most importantly, a far more reliable and robust computing experience. The features we’ll discuss in this chapter and the next are all part of the original release version of Entourage 2008. Historically, Microsoft has released a lot of program improvements through updates, so more upgrades might be on the way!

In this chapter, you’ll learn about the Entourage program interface, and how to connect to your e-mail account. Then you’ll learn about creating, sending, and managing e-mail messages.
