In Chapter 6, we concentrated on the basic aspects of creating presentations and getting content into them. You can create very attractive and effective presentations by using the default presentation templates available in Microsoft PowerPoint 2008 for Mac. But you also have a lot of options for customizing the appearance of the slides in your presentation, and that’s what we’ll discuss now.
In this chapter, you’ll learn to change the appearance of text on slides, and you’ll customize slides with a variety of backgrounds. You’ll learn several ways to change the appearance of individual slides, of groups of slides that share the same slide layout, and of all the slides in a presentation. Then you’ll learn how to run a slide show of your presentation.
You can find handy keyboard shortcuts, simple instructions for performing common tasks, and other useful information in the Quick Reference section at the beginning of this book.
The practice file you will use to complete the exercise in this chapter is in the WorkSlides practice file folder. See "Using the Companion Content" at the beginning of this book for information about installing and locating the practice files.
