Change Standard Slide Settings

You can change the aspect ratio, size, and orientation of slides from the Page Setup dialog box. You can specifically size slides for:

  • On-screen shows of different aspect ratios.

  • Printing on standard U.S. paper formats (letter and ledger) and standard European paper formats (A3, A4, B4, and B5).

  • Delivery on a 35mm slide projector or on an overhead projector.

  • Printing as a banner, or at a custom size to fit any other purpose.

Troubleshooting

When you resize slides, PowerPoint does its best to adjust existing slide content to fit the new space. If the new slide size is smaller than the original, some slide content might not comfortably fit on the slides. Be sure to check all of yours slides after you resize them to ensure that your content still appears the way you want it to.

Click Header/Footer in the Page Setup dialog box to set up standard header and footer content. You can apply changes you make in the Header And Footer dialog box to the current slide, to all slides in the presentation, or to all the printed handouts associated with the presentation.

Troubleshooting

You can change the size and orientation of slides and control the standard header and footer content.
