In this exercise, you’ll insert slides from one presentation into another.
SET UP In this exercise, you’ll use the SalesMeeting and SalesPlanning presentations located in the ~/Documents/Microsoft Press/2008OfficeMacSBS/CreatePresentations/ folder. Start by opening the SalesPlanning presentation.
On the Slides page of the Navigation pane, click Slide 3.
Note that all the slides in this presentation have white backgrounds.
On the Insert menu, point to Slides From, and then click Other Presentation.
The Choose A File dialog box opens.
If the dialog box doesn’t already display the contents of the CreatePresentations folder, navigate to that folder. Then click the SalesMeeting presentation.
With the Select slides to insert option selected, click Insert.
The Slide Finder opens, displaying thumbnails and titles of all the slides in the SalesMeeting presentation. Note that all the slides in this presentation have patterned blue backgrounds.
In the Slide Finder, scroll the pane, and click the thumbnail for Slide 7, titled Bamboo Product Line.
The thumbnail depicts a slide with a blue patterned background, a white title, and a table. The table has a blue header row and, if you look closely, blue cell outlines.
In the Slide Finder, click Insert.
PowerPoint inserts the selected slide from the SalesMeeting presentation as Slide 4 in the SalesPlanning presentation. The new slide has the white background of the other slides in the destination presentation, and the table has a purple header and outlines. It’s not obvious from what we could previously see, but the font has also changed to that of the SalesPlanning presentation.
