Sporty Color
The hues of ocean and air, along with those related to team uni-
forms and sporting equipment, are the basis of the sporty color
palette. Strong, slightly violet blue, royal blue, sky blue, aqua, and
orange, all at a mid- to light value, are fresh and active; together
with hot red, golden yellow, and Kelly green (common in boating
sails, jerseys, and playing fields), these colors form analogous rela-
tionships that suggest teamwork and harmony. White, additionally,
brings openness and suggests boat sails, tennis whites and sneak-
ers, the paulino of bocce, the ice rink, and the regulation markers
of various playing courts.
