Summary

In this chapter, you were introduced to the concept of Web Parts, which are used to display both static and interactive content. The combination of Web Parts on a page allows for the creation of an interactive portal with a default configuration; this configuration can be further customized on an individual basis to accommodate the needs of a subset of users.

Web Parts can be combined with views to relate a particular piece of information in multiple views, based on metadata. They can also be connected to each other so that users can interactively query a subset of information from a Web Parts library.

Finally, you were able to see the differences in the application of Web Parts on both wiki and Web Part pages. It is through these differences that you can better define the type of page that you utilize to relate information to your SharePoint Users.
