Summary

This chapter explained the basics of how to create sites and workspaces with the browser in SharePoint Foundation. It started off with the basic Team Site and worked through several workspaces and other site templates, while exploring some of the options available. It also showed how to customize some of the main elements of each type of site as well as how to hook into Meeting Workspaces with Outlook. After finishing this chapter, you should have a firm understanding of the sites and workspaces available as well as how to create them. Finally, you touched on creating a blog site. With blog sites, end users are empowered to create and share information that helps them on a day-to-day basis. The more people who contribute to internal blogs, the quicker difficult problems will be solved for others in your organization. Hopefully, you have also gained some insight into when to use which template to get the most out of your site. Consequently, by following the process, you will be able to minimize the amount of additional customization work that might be required to meet your business needs.
