Image DAY 199 GALLERY OF INSPIRATION

Shadow Bench, Shadow Path, and Dark Door

BY MARGUERITE HOSSLER

A small and beautiful teak and brass pinhole camera captured these three images. The pinhole camera—a simple little box with a hole for a lens opposite some film—is a stark contrast to the digital camera. When using it to take a photograph, it’s necessary to judge the exposure time on your own. The focus is fixed. The benefits are a heightened awareness of light, time, and film.
