Dark Versus Light, Day Versus Night

Working at night is what I love most—and star trails are fascinating. This image was taken on private property one hour south of Brisbane, Australia, shooting into the southern sky with the Southern Cross. The star field that we see in our night sky rotates around the polar axis in a complete circle.
