The End of the Line

This image is a stereographic “PanoPlanet” of the intersection of Market Street and Castro Street in San Francisco, California. The technique involves taking multiple photographs to form a complete 360° panorama of a particular scene. The set is then warped into a “planet” using a mathematical transformation. This type of image is characterized by a circular planet surface, with structures (such as buildings) breaking free of the planet’s surface and into the sky.
