During the planning session, it is important to rank your issues so that the list reflects their importance relative to each other. For those who are familiar with Jira, there is a priority field, but since it allows you to have more than one issue sharing the same priority value, it becomes confusing when you have two issues both marked as critical.

With Scrum, you should prioritize issues by dragging an issue up and down the list according to its importance. This is usually done when you are grooming your backlog. By having the most important issues at the top of the backlog, when it comes to sprint planning, you can easily add issues to your sprint by dragging the sprint footer, as we will see later.
