DAY 174 | NATURE & LANDSCAPES |
From infancy, wild animals learn how to survive within their environment, using their natural talents. Everything a baby animal learns as it matures serves a purpose later in life. A red fox will run from danger, disappearing into a forest or into the nearest hole. It’s a natural instinct learned by observing how their parents responded to a perceived danger. From the time they’re old enough to run, a baby red fox bounds away but may take shelter in the nearest hole, even if it’s a drainpipe. However, baby red foxes are naturally curious, so if you’re patient and prepared, you may be able to grab a shot of one these cute, little bundles of energy.
Keep your telephoto lens handy, and remain as still as possible. You may be rewarded with that once-in-a-lifetime shot of a baby red fox as it sticks its head out to watch you watching him. —WTD
