DAY 146 | SPORTS & PHOTOJOURNALISM |
This snowy photo was captured at a Green Bay Packers NFL playoff game. This is a quintessential shot of legendary Lambeau Field’s frozen tundra in the middle of winter. The players look like a pack of wolves amidst the falling snow. I used a 70-200mm lens to make sure the photo was not zoomed in too much. I chose to offset the offensive huddle to the right, which creates visual negative space to the left. This space isolates the players and gives a sense of perspective. As well, it provides an area for magazines or advertisements to overlay text. The weather was so cold that I kept hand warmers in my pockets to heat up the batteries, which had to be constantly rotated because the cold reduces their performance by half. —TH
