Chapter 8. Work Management 163 Associate hazards with assets and locations Hazards can be related directly with assets and locations to build safety plans when a work order involves them. Both the Assets and Locations applications provide a Safety tab that enables the association of the selected asset or location with hazards. On the Safety tab, in both applications, are three sub tabs: Hazards and Precautions, Hazardous Materials and Lock Out/ Tag Out. Each sub tab enables associating the specified hazard type. Figure 8- 20 shows an example of associating the asset Electrical Control Panel with the hazard High Voltage. The same tab is provided for the Locations application. A safety plan may contain the following components: Hazards and Precautions This component associates a previously created hazard that relates precautions to a safety plan. Hazardous Materials This component associates a previously created hazard that relates hazardous materials to a safety plan. Tag Outs This component associates a previously created hazard that relates tag- out procedures to a safety plan. Use the Tag Outs tab to specify a tagged- out hazard that defines safety sequences to apply a work asset to or remove it from service. Figure 8- 21 shows an example of a safety plan. Figure 8- 21 Example of a safety plan to work on an electrical service The Tag Outs tab The Tag Outs tab is used to add or view procedures to eliminate hazards for work assets. These procedures contain information about lock- out operations and describe how to take work assets out of service and place them back in service. Figure 8- 22 on page 165 shows an example of a tag- out definition inside a safety plan to work with electrical equipment.
