Once you've reached the scheduled event time, you'll need to start preparing to launch the event. Let's get started:
- Launch Yammer and navigate to the group where the scheduled event has been created.
- Under GROUP EVENTS, select the event you wish to start:
- Once the event page opens, click the Setup event button on the video player.
- Once the event setup has been completed, click the ingest urls link to get the server URLs that you will use in your media encoder configuration:
The ingest urls link will provide two links: a Primary and a Secondary URL. If your encoder has only one output destination, you'll just use the Primary URL. Some encoders support a secondary stream as well. If your encoder supports dual output streams, you can send data to the Secondary URL as well to provide additional resiliency to your stream.
Additionally, the ingest urls link also includes a toggle to turn SSL on or off. If this toggle is set to Off, then you are configured so that you can send data to Microsoft Stream via RTMP. If you set the toggle to On, then you are configured to send data to Microsoft Stream via RTMPS. Be sure to select the appropriate setting for your encoder as not all encoders support RTMPS.
Finally, you must ensure your encoder is configured to send both video AND audio data to Microsoft Stream. Microsoft Stream will not be able to play back the saved content otherwise.

- Once you have configured your media encoder and started streaming, the video preview window on the Yammer site should refresh to show what the media encoder is receiving as a feed. Click Start event to start broadcasting the event to the viewers:
- The event should now be live and the viewers can navigate to the event URL:
- When you are ready to end the event, click the End event button. You'll want to ensure you end the event in Yammer before you stop streaming on your encoder; otherwise, users will receive errors that the stream was interrupted:
