To remove a site or a subsite (typically, classic SharePoint sites), follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the SharePoint site that you wish to delete.
2. Click the gear icon and select Site Settings. If site settings isn't available, click Site Information and select View all site settings.
3. Under Site Actions, choose Delete this site and click Delete to confirm.
