Application services are sub-divided into different offerings that deliver services that can then be consumed by applications running in the cloud. Examples include the following service offerings:

• Amazon API Gateway: A fully managed service that allows creating, maintaining, and securing custom APIs at any scale. API Gateway can handle hundreds of thousands of concurrent API calls and can handle common tasks such as traffic management, monitoring, authorization and access control.
• Amazon Elastic Transcoder: A highly available and cost-effective media transcoding service in the cloud.
• Amazon Simple Workflow Service (SWF): A tool that enables you to manage and control the state of your application or business logic in the cloud.
