Sometimes, the messages in the message queue cannot be processed or have become stale, and we do not want to use the processing power in AWS to process them as they are irrelevant. If we need to clean up a queue, we can perform a queue purge. This will delete all the messages in the message queue and can be achieved in the management console by selecting Queue Actions | Purge Queue, as shown in the following screenshot, or by running the aws sqs purge-queue command from the CLI:
