If restoring one of the database backups is required, a database restore can be completed from an RDS snapshot. We need to consider that an RDS snapshot cannot be restored over an existing database instance or cluster; only a new database instance, or database cluster in the case of Aurora, with the same or newly selected characteristics can be used to restore the database in question.
