When I wake up extra hungry and in need of recovery the day after a hard training session, I turn to this breakfast. This pancake is loaded with protein and carbs to give your body everything it needs to rebuild and grow. This meal is truly an anabolic way to start your day.
Makes: 1 serving
Serving size: 1 pancake
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 12 minutes
INGREDIENTS
1 cup egg whites
1⁄2 cup old-fashioned oats
1 tbsp almond flour
1⁄2 tsp ground cinnamon
1⁄2 tsp baking powder
1 scoop of protein powder
pinch of salt
DIRECTIONS
1 In a blender on medium speed, blend all the ingredients until well mixed.
2 On a nonstick griddle on the stovetop over medium-high heat, pour the batter in a large circle. Cook until the edges start to look dry, about 2 to 3 minutes. Flip and cook 1 to 2 minutes more.
3 Remove the pancake from the griddle and serve immediately.
I usually top these with syrup or honey and fruit, but be creative!
