How to identify the right candidate

Identifying the candidate that is the right fit for the position you are hiring, the candidate who is geared for progression in his career, and who can make an immediate contribution to your organization, is a challenge. If you are choosing your candidates based solely on their technical skills, you won't find the right fit. Passion, motivation, and high achievement are tell-tale signs of good emotional intelligence. Therefore, look for the following traits on your candidate during the interview:

  • Look for self-awareness and self-assessment--core emotional intelligence skills
  • Look for affinity, communication skills, and social skills (good communication skills, good listener, team player, influencer)
  • Look for the readiness and willingness of the candidate to come on board of your organization and projects
