Conducting the interview

Conducting a successful interview for both parts can be challenging when the interviewers are not trained and prepared. For a lot of interviewers, building rapport with the candidate doesn't come naturally. This may be because they are shy or because they lack the emotional intelligence skills to cope with the stress of the interview and the social skills to immediately build a rapport with a stranger - the candidate. Plus, in most situations, the person conducting the interview doesn't prepare in advance the batch of questions they need to ask, or the proper follow-up questions to make after any answer. And YES! Many hiring managers or recruiters don't have the emotional intelligence skills to perform their job at the highest level. In fact, many hiring managers dread the interviewing and the hiring--as they are fully aware of the responsibility of hiring the right fit to the job position and add value to the organization and/or client. Hiring is an art, not just a job. There's a lot to learn along the journey. Remember to leave a footprint with every candidate you meet no matter if he was selected or not.
