Ultimately, it’s a fried egg in the space left by cutting a hole into a piece of bread. This is a great way to cut down on your carb intake.

INGREDIENTS
unsalted butter
1 slice thick-cut whole-grain bread
1 large egg
salt and freshly ground black pepper
chopped fresh parsley
DIRECTIONS
1 Generously butter a cast iron skillet. Place the skillet on the stovetop over medium-low heat.
2 Use a biscuit cutter to cut a circle from the middle of the bread. Place the bread in the skillet and crack the egg into the circle. Cover the skillet and cook until the egg becomes firm, about 2 minutes. (Cook for 1 minute for a runny egg). Flip and cook to your desired doneness.
3 Remove the egg’s nest from the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and parsley. Serve immediately.
