After you create a new field configuration scheme and establish the mappings, the final step is to associate the scheme with a project for the configurations to take effect.
It is important to note that, once you associate the field configuration scheme with a project, you cannot delete it until you remove all the associations so that the scheme becomes inactive again.
To associate a field configuration scheme with a project:
- Browse to the target project's administration page
- Click on the Fields option in the left panel
- Select the Use a different scheme option from the Actions menu
- Select a new field configuration scheme and click on the Associate button
As shown in the following screenshot, the project is using the Support Field Configuration Scheme, which has two configurations:
- The Bug and Sub-task issue types are using Default Field Configuration, since they do not have specific mappings.
- All other issue types, such as Bug and Sub-task, are using their own field configurations as per the scheme's mapping:
You can click on each of the field configurations to view their details.
