The controls in RETROformer are quite straightforward. We have just three actions:

• Move left
• Move right
• Jump

However, we need to sync these actions with the animation state machine created in the previous section. Moreover, in Chapter 9, Look, It Moves, we extended this controller so that it can be used by mobile devices as well.  As a result, we need to build the controller in a modular way—we need a control scheme.
