Let's join an open membership group:
- Log in to http://maharaforbeginners.tdm.info with your username and password.
- Click on Groups on the main menu bar.
- Click on the Find groups submenu tab.
- You will see all the groups that are available to you in http://maharaforbeginners.tdm.info. Browse through the groups until you find a group called ePortfolios: Best Practice. Remember, you can always use the Search box to search for any group you want, if you already know its name.
- When you have found this group, you will see that you have the option Join this group. This button is present on all open membership groups. Click on Join this group.
- That's all there is to it. You have just joined your first Mahara group.
You just joined a group at http://maharaforbeginners.tdm.info. We think it would be great if readers of this book could use the groups and discussion area in this site to give feedback on things that they have read in the book or generally to discuss Mahara and ePortfolios.
Have a look around the other groups in the site and see if there are any that grab your interest. Why not join up to some more groups or even set up some new groups of your own? When you've had some practice, move over to your own Mahara site or one of the mentioned free alternatives.
