Upholstery Seams
Plain Seam: Simplest way to sew two pieces of fabric together.
Topstitch: Additional line of stitching that goes through three
layers of fabric. The strongest seam.
French Seam: Two additional lines of stitching on either side
of a plain seam. Often considered the most beautiful seam.
Welt: Round piping edge detail that hides the plain seam.
Topstitched Welt: Additional line of stitching adjacent to a welt.
