Give the Employees a Hand, Literally

Regardless of your line of work, there can be projects that are so overwhelming for your employees that they truly need help. You can wait for employees to come up for air and ask you, but if you are managing by wandering around, you are going to see and hear the problem quite easily.

When you spot it, you should approach your employees and offer your help. Your employees will instantly sense some personal recognition because you think enough of them to roll up your sleeves and work side by side with them. Doing so is a true vote of confidence for them.

Working directly with your employees is also going to give you more insight into their motivations, styles, standards, and objectives. This type of information can be very valuable as you seek additional ways to recognize and reward their performance in the future.
