Significant Others

Another great way to reward your employees is to recognize the significant events, milestones, and achievements of some of the significant others in their lives. These significant others include spouses, children, parents, partners, and even in-laws, and their accomplishments and milestones can include graduations, promotions, major birthdays, plus any honors they receive.

You can turn any of these events into a recognition moment by sending a congratulatory note to the employee, posting congratulations on the company Website or Wall of Fame, and sending a congratulatory note to the significant other.

When you recognize the accomplishments of people who are of primary importance in your employees’ lives, you are providing indirect recognition to your employees, and this makes them feel proud. And this type of recognition further demonstrates and reinforces your commitment to a work-life balance.
