The Employees Are Entitled

One of the most important ways to recognize an employee’s performance, productivity, and contributions is with a job title. Although it is understood that a job title defines a person’s job, it is important to emphasize that the title plays a role in defining the jobholder.

The various roles that people play in life serve to define them at various times. For example, there are roles as a father, mother, brother, sister, friend, coach, and numerous others. However, because working people tend to spend the majority of their waking hours on the job, the job title plays a key role in self-definition.

If you have an employee who has consistently stepped up and performed beyond the call of his or her job description, upgrading his or her title can be a durable, visible, and greatly appreciated form of recognition.
