It’s a Gas

Many studies are finding that gasoline prices are of major importance to growing numbers of employees. As a result, some of today’s best rewards are gasoline gift cards. They look like plastic gift cards from any retailer, and they have a dollar amount right on the front, typically $25, $50, or $100.

Because rewards work best when they meet your employees’ needs, gasoline gift cards certainly fit the bill. They clearly demonstrate that you looked carefully for a reward that your employees can actually use. While there certainly is a place for “warm and fuzzy” rewards, there is also a place for functional rewards, especially those that fill the employees’ needs while also filling their gas tanks.

Your employees will sense a good deal of recognition when you hand them one of these cards, and they will relive some of those positive feelings when they use their cards to fill up their cars and get back on the road.
