Remote Desktop Connection Settings

If Remote Desktop Services will be used to host the virtual desktops, the remote desktop client settings must be configured so that audio plays on the local system, and remote recording must be disabled. The following procedure is used to configure the Remote Desktop Connections settings on the local system in preparation for the deploying the Lync VDI plugin:

1. Log on to the local system, and open the Remote Desktop Services client by selecting Start, All Programs, Accessories, Remote Desktop Connection.

2. Click on Options to expand the dialog box, and then select the Local Resources tab.

3. In the Remote Audio section, click Settings to display the remote audio settings, as shown in Figure 27.3.

4. Under Remote Audio Playback, select Play on This Computer.

5. Under Remote Audio Recording, select Do Not Record, and then click OK.

6. Select the Experience tab.

7. In the Performance section, clear the option for Persistent Bitmap Caching.

8. Select the General tab and then click Save As, and at the Save As dialog box choose a location where the RDP file will be saved.
