Creating Network Inter-Site Policies

Network inter-site policies are used to define a bandwidth policy between two sites that are connected to the same region, but that also have a direct link to each other. In some cases this link might have additional WAN bandwidth that can be leveraged for calls, or that might even be preferred over a call traversing through the central site. Similar to a region link, two sites are defined and a bandwidth policy profile is associated with the link. It’s very possible that no network inter-site policies need to be created. Network inter-site policies can be created only using the Lync Server Management Shell.

For each inter-site policy required, use the following syntax:

New-CSNetworkInterSitePolicy -InterNetworkSitePolicyID <Inter-Site Policy Name> -NetworkSiteID1 <Network Site 1 ID> -NetworkSiteID2 <Network Site 2 ID> -BWPolicyProfileID <Bandwidth Policy Profile ID>
