Comparing Voice Options Between Topologies

For many organizations, enterprise voice capabilities have the largest impact on the choice of which platform to use. Microsoft of course recognizes this, and as a result has moved quickly to ensure that there are several voice options to choose from within the available Lync topologies. For organizations that rely heavily on voice, it is important to understand the differences between the voice features offered with the various platforms. With that in mind, Table 28.1 presents a list of important Lync voice features, and shows which of these features are offered across the three Lync topologies. After the specific voice requirements of an organization are well understood, these requirements can be compared with the information in Table 28.1 to determine which platform presents the right voice feature set.
