One Note

Lync 2013 has a new level of integration with OneNote for taking notes during Lync Meetings. Just as in previous versions of the product, users can initiate a new note from an existing conversation. Click the Presentation icon, select OneNote, and select My Notes. This prompts the user to select a notebook for the note, and then automatically populates the subject, date, time, and participants.

New to Lync 2013 is the capability to select Shared Notes, which again prompts the user for a notebook to store the notes in. The difference with Shared Notes is that all meeting participants can simultaneously edit the notes, which helps ensure that no information is missed. This feature is dependent on all meeting participants having access to a shared notebook on SharePoint or Windows SkyDrive. Lync provides the integration point, but does not provision or provide access to the shared notebook. This functionality can be tested in advance of a meeting to ensure it works properly.
