To run the examples in this book, you need to have Visual Studio 2008 installed on your computer. As a result, all pre-requisites of Visual Studio 2008 should be installed as well.
In Chapter 7, you will be guided to download and install Microsoft Web Service Software Factory. This Service Factory will be used to model all of the WCF services starting from this chapter.
You need an SQL Server database engine, and in Chapter 6 you will be guided to download and install the Microsoft sample database Northwind to this database engine. This sample database will be used for all of the data access layers used in this book.
You need a second SQL Server database engine on a different computer to hold another sample database. This database will be used to run examples for the distributed transaction support of the WCF services described in Chapter 13.
