Margaret Hurst
“I believe in energy. It lls us; it lls the universe. I appreciate the energy that
exists in all things. It is my joy and pleasure as a visual artist to nd and
identify the individual energy that every being, place, and thing possesses and
to manifest that particular energy into a visual form or entity.”—Margaret
School for Design and has conducted an illustration workshop at the
University of Alaska. She and Veronica Lawlor are the founders of the
Dalvero Academy. Margaret is a member and vice president of the Studio
1482 illustration collective. She is the author/illustrator of the award-winning
book Grannie and the Jumbie (Laura Geringer Books) and is also a
cofounder of live2lime, a Caribbean-themed fashion line.
She has exhibited at the Society of Illustrators, the Rx Club, Messiah
New York
Living and Latitudes magazines and is cited in the book Early
Childhood Education Today by George S. Morrison.
A native of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Margaret is a
