In this chapter, we will cover some of the processes of the service strategy phase of the lifecycle. Service portfolio management provides an important source of information for managing services across the lifecycle. Financial management consists of understanding the costs for IT services, including being able to justify the expenditure of those services. Business relationship management is crucial to ensuring an integrated approach to the delivery of services to meet organizational needs.
We will review the purpose, objectives, and scope for each of the processes and consider their importance in the service strategy lifecycle stage.
