Configuring the OBP transaction infrastructure

After setting the base OBP network infrastructure, as seen in the previous section, it is now time to set up an OBP transaction infrastructure. Primarily, this is defining the shared ledger in system configurations and associating parties (OBP instances) who can read/write to the ledger.

For our use case, this would involve setting up a channel with OEU (the founder) and adding the ORS, CVs, and OBP instances to the same channel. Refer to the Network topology and Channels sections of Chapter 4, Engage in Business Case on Blockchain Platform, for more details.

As the name suggests, channels are logical or configuration constructs in OBP, which allow two or more network stakeholders to share data. This sharing of data is done via the shared ledger. Hence, each channel in OBP essentially also represents the underlying shared ledger associated with it.
